Fiorentina Women suffered a gut-wrenching defeat at the hands of Sassuolo on Saturday as the hosts secured victory at the end of an even encounter.

Both teams had one great chance each in either half but a combination of fine goalkeeping and desperate defending saw the scores remain goalless until stoppage time, when Chiara Beccari squeezed through a gap in the Viola rearguard and found the winner.

Fiorentina will look to bounce back next Sunday when Inter visit Viola Park.
