Fiorentina Women lose 4-0 at Juventus

A bad day at the office in Biella

30 March 2024

Fiorentina Women endured a tough afternoon away at Juventus on Saturday, as the home side ran out dominant 4-0 winners.

While the first real chance of the game fell to Madelen Janogy, who was denied by Pauline Peyraud-Magnin in the Juventus goal, the hosts' start was blistering. It yielded a first goal after 10 minutes, when Julia Grosso collected a loose ball on the edge of the box before firing into the corner with a degree of good fortune.

Jennifer Echegini added a second just three minutes later, working her way into the box before finding the far corner.

The Nigerian added a second 10 minutes after the break, with the help of a deflection off Alexandra Johannsdottir, before bagging her hat-trick on the hour mark.

The Viola fought until the end to breach the Juventus defense but on a water-logged pitch after a downpour they were powerless to shift the scoreline.

Fiorentina now have a lengthy break from competitive action before resuming the Scudetto play-offs at the end of April, when they host Roma.
