Yet another Viola comeback sees us win 2-1 in added time
Just like the season as a whole, today’s showdown wasn’t for the faint of heart. The Viola came from behind to win 2-1 with a goal in the 93rd minute from Lucia Pastrenge. Inter, who had come to Florence with the aim of leapfrogging Fiorentina into second place, headed home empty-handed.
The visitors got off to a good start, taking the lead after 30 minutes through Ivana Andres. Fiorentina found an equaliser on the hour mark through a Veronica Boquete penalty, before Pastrenge scored her maiden Viola and Serie A goal to win the game for the hosts.
Next up for Fiorentina is Arezzo in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 midweek, before the girls head to the capital to pit their wits against reigning Serie A champions AS Roma.
